I am pleased that the Museum of Encaustic Art in Cerrillos, NM has acquired my painting "Rolling" (2016) to be in their permanent collection.
This painting was recently part of the exhibition, “Towards a 21st Century Abstraction”, curated by Art Critic, Peter Frank, who wrote the essay for the exhibition catalogue.
He said this about my work, "Ellis's work brims with hot, unadulterated hues and he gives his tropical palette a vigorous workout in compositions that had been almost liquid but have fixed into clearly described geometric patterns. He relies on elaborate, asymmetrical armatures to deliver his eye-fructose."
